Childbirth preparation courses (max. 14 hours) taught by a midwife are generally covered by health insurance. The course hours attended by the pregnant participant are billed to the woman's statutory or private health insurance company in accordance with the midwifery assistance contract (fee regulation according to §134a SGB V) and are therefore paid for by the insurance company.
Most insurance companies also reimburse the partner fee or parts thereof. In order to be able to submit the flat rate of €150 to the health insurance company, a certificate of participation will be issued at the end of the course.
Your place is secured once the registration form has been completed and submitted and, after the invoice for the partner fee has been sent, the fee has been transferred within one week and received in the account no later than 10 working days after the invoice date.
For those with statutory insurance, the midwife will bill the statutory health insurance company directly for the course hours attended (€11.40/60 min.).
For those with private insurance, the entire invoice amount (1.8 times the rate) must be transferred. You will receive an invoice for the hours attended and submit this to your health insurance company for reimbursement.
Cancellation, either for individual sessions or for the entire course, must be made in writing (by email). As cancellations cannot be invoiced under the current midwifery assistance contract and no further participants can be accepted into an ongoing, sequential course, the midwife suffers a loss of earnings through no fault of her own. Attendance is therefore strongly requested whenever possible.
If the course participant is unable to attend the birth preparation course, the midwife must be notified 30 days before the start of the course so that the place can be filled by someone else.
The midwife reserves the right to cancel individual course sessions at short notice if necessary (especially in the event of illness) and/or to reschedule them. Absence from the replacement session cannot be refunded. Course participants are not entitled to a replacement date.
In addition, the midwife reserves the right to offer the course digitally/in combination (online and in person) if necessary (pandemic, illness). Registration is binding for all forms.
If the course does not take place due to insufficient numbers of participants or for other reasons, the partner fee will be refunded in full.
By transferring the partner fee, you tacitly agree to the general terms and conditions. Upon receipt of payment, the provisions of the terms and conditions are legally effective.
Video course:
The full scope of the terms and conditions applies to both in-person courses and video courses. The online platform is certified for medical care and courses in accordance with the applicable GDPR. The participant undertakes to sign the services received for the midwife for billing purposes.
Consumers are entitled to a right of withdrawal under the following conditions: A consumer is any natural person who concludes a legal transaction for purposes that cannot be predominantly attributed to either their commercial or independent professional activity. The midwife/midwifery practice points out the following to the participant: You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving reasons. The cancellation period is 14 days from the day the contract is concluded. In order to exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform the midwife of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or by email). In order to meet the cancellation period, it is sufficient that you send the notification of your exercise of the right of cancellation before the cancellation period expires.
Consequences of revocation
The midwife/midwifery practice must repay all payments received from the participant immediately, but at the latest within 14 days from the day on which notification of the revocation was received. If the participant has requested that the service begin during the cancellation period, she must pay the midwifery practice an appropriate amount that corresponds to the proportion of the service used up to that point.
